The Łódź Province Economic Council Designs the Ecosystem of the Future

The Łódź Province Economic Council is composed of 30 entrepreneurs from specialist industries operating in the Lodz region and representatives of business environment institutions and universities. Last meeting was opened by Joanna Skrzydlewska, Marshal of the Łódzkie Voivodeship. During the session, the key discussion topics included:

• Implementing a new vocational education strategy to strengthen the workforce for the economy
• Developing a model for the growth of key industries in the Łódzkie Voivodeship in line with the innovation ecosystem concept
• Expanding international business connections between Łódź and Tunisia

Representing Mabion on the Economic Council is Anna Wieczorek, Director of the Administration Department. With more than 10 years of experience, our expert brings a multidisciplinary perspective, as her professional background spans several areas, including HR transformation, corporate governance, ESG and sustainable development, EU-funded projects, and process optimization.

By collaborating, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, the business environment, and the scientific community can undertake key initiatives that support the development of the entire region.

Establishing New Business Connections at Business Mixer 2026

On March 5, the 11th edition of the Business Mixer, organized by the Łódź Special Economic Zone (ŁSSE), took place in Grohman Factory. The event brought together 400 participants from across Poland who established new business connections through a series of three-minute presentations. Mabion, as a member of the Łódź Special Economic Zone, was also present at the event. Our representative was Jakub Knurek, Marketing Specialist.

Prior to the Business Mixer, the Spark Demo Day took place, marking the halfway point of the Startup Spark 3.0 Acceleration Program. During this part of the event, 21 technology startups from across Poland presented themselves to the business community. These were the top projects that received more than PLN 5 million in grants to support the development and testing of innovations in collaboration with established companies, as well as international expansion to markets such as Spain, the Netherlands, and the United States.

During the event, the startups showcased the results of their six-month acceleration process, presenting their developed innovative solutions and engaging in direct discussions with venture capital funds and institutions offering further financial support for the SME sector.

The final highlight of this part of the meeting was the Spark Impact Talk. Discussion on cooperation between startups and established businesses, moderated by Magda Kubicka, Director of the Innovation Department at ŁSSE, featured the following speakers:

• Michał Wasielewski – CEO, Cyber Range, a startup that joined the Spark 3.0 Accelerator and successfully developed and internationalized its solution
• Andrzej Horoch – Co-founder of Connected Realities, alumni of a previous ŁSSE program in 2020
• Jacek Bukowicki – Acceleration Program Specialist, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development
• Michał Lasocki – Partner, EEC Ventures

The Łódź Special Economic Zone has 24 years of experience, 415 serviced investment projects, over $5 billion of capital invested and over 46,000 jobs created.

Jakub Knurek is a marketing and business development expert specializing in CDMO operations with scientific and biopharmaceutical background. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he contributed to the development of the Novavax protein vaccine. As a side project, he runs his own pharma company.

As the author of numerous articles, he is recognized as an important voice of the younger generation of scientists. He is a member of Mabion’s representation at industry trade shows, including BIO International Convention 2025 in Boston, 2nd Global Biologics India 2025 in Hydrabad, CPHI 2024 in Milan, CPHI 2023 in Barcelona, Life Sciences Baltics 2023 in Vilnius. He actively participates in academic, business and industry discussions, such as the “Building the Future Pharma Workforce” panel at CPHI Milan 2024.
